Region of the Month

This month's region is Languedoc-Roussillon. It is the home of our Cassoulet Recipe and like that dish, it is a region full of Mediterranean and and Spanish influences. In fact, prior to the 20th century, Occitan and Catalan were the languages primarily spoken here.

Less famous internationally for it's wine, it actually has many more vineyards than the renowned Bordeaux region. It is even estimated that 1 in 10 bottles of wine in the world are produced here.

Aside from the beautiful food and wine, Languedoc-Roussillon is home to some of France's most avid Rugby league fans, making it a must-visit destination for an Aussie abroad!
